- Abstract
- This study attempted to understand the imagery formation process of professional golf players.
Accordingly, the purpose of this is to explore in-depth the opportunity for imagery formation, the main conditions for forming the imagery, and the result of the imagery formation. The research procedure consisted of 8 professional golf players in the first part and 8 professional golf players in the second part, and a total of 16 professional golf players were interviewed in-depth. The data analysis was categorized into three stages of Strauss & Corbin's (1998) grounded theory method: open coding, axis coding, and selective coding to explain the phenomenon.
Based on the results of this study, the process of image formation of professional golf players was in-depth searched to find the trigger for imagery formation, the main conditions for imagery formation, and the result of imagery formation. Through this, it is possible to understand the importance of images to instructors and golf players, and to provide clues that can form appropriate imagery according to the purpose of using imagery, the significance of this study.
