- Abstract
- A numerical model based on RANS equations was employed to verify its capability of hydrodynamics in movable sea bed. The numerical modeling was carried out based on the wave and bathymetry conditions of the laboratory experiments that were conducted in the large-scale wave flume. Optimal grid size in the model domain was determined through the basic sensitivity tests in both accuracy and computational cost points of view. The results showed that the vertical profiles of horizontal velocities and turbulent kinetic energies at the bar trough and crest changed as beach profile changed.
