- Abstract
- This study aims to investigate the aspect of oral fluency in second language acquisition. The subjects in this study were two groups of Korean-learning Chinese who differed according to their degrees of Korean proficiency(9 beginners and 8 intermediate learners). We have performed reading tests three times at intervals of three months and analyzed overall speaking rates, articulatory rates, frequency of stuttering, and articulatory accuracy of each subject longitudinally. The results of the present study are as follows: (1) The overall speaking rates and the articulatory rates increased whereas the frequency of stuttering decreased over the study period. And this was a lot more noticeable for beginners than intermediate learners. (2) The articulatory rates was a major factor in increasing overall speaking rates. (3) The articulary accuracy advance with the general development of fluency.
