Abstract
This study conducted survey with 482 participants who have experienced in recreational sports more than three month by carrying out frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and hypothesis test using the structural equation model in order to examine the relationship among career preparation behavior, self-esteem and participation in recreational sports activities of collegiate students. Findings of this study are as follows: First, participation in recreational sports activities of collegiate students had a positive(+) impact on positive self-esteem. Second, the collegiate students’ positive self-esteem had a positive(+) impact on career preparation behavior. Third, participationin recreational sports activities of collegiate students had a negative(-) impact on negative self-esteem. Fourth, the collegiate students’ negative self-esteem had no effects on career preparation behavior. Fifth, participation in recreational sports activities of collegiate students had a positive(+) impact on career preparation behavior. Sixth, the collegiate students’ self-esteem had an role in mediating between participation in recreational sports activities and career preparation behavior
