- Abstract
- In this study, we present a simple method for fabricating CNT(carbon nanotube)-based fiel d emitters with high emission current by using a flat-type cellulose substrate with high absorbency. The CNTs were deposited by using a dip-coating method. Additional post-treatments, such as washing and taping, were followed to enhance their field emission properties. Energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis was conducted before and after washing The change in the substrate surface after taping was also monitored via field-emission scanning electron microscopy. The experimental results indicated that the CNT emitters fabricated on cellulose substrates showed emission currents as high as 1 mA at a relatively low applied field, which would be desirable for cold cathodes of x-ray tubes.
