Abstract
This paper studies a time response of a deploying beam. To obtain the dynamic behavior, a two dimensional Euler-Bernoulli beam model which moves to axial direction from a rigid wall is made. The equations of motion and boundary conditions for longitudinal and transverse deformation are obtained by using Hamilton’s principle. The equation for transverse deflection has a non-linearly coupled term and its effect is researched. The time response of the deploying beam is calculated by the numerical time integration method.
