dc.description.abstract | Induction of γ-globin, a component of fetal hemoglobin (HbF, α2γ2), represents one therapeutic strategy to ameliorate the pathological symptoms of sickle cell disease. A high-throughput screen of a large chemical library identified a 2,6-diamino-substituted purine, TN1, which induces HbF more potently than hydroxyurea in KU812 and K562 leukemia cell lines. | - |
