- Abstract
- The effects of magnetic fields on the elastic electron-ion collision are investigated in a magnetized quantum Fermi plasma. The total elastic scattering cross section is also obtained by the optical theorem with the forward scattering amplitude. It is found that the scattering phase shift increases with an increase of the magnetic-field strength, especially, for small impact parameters. It is also found that the effect of magnetic field strongly enhances the electron-ion collision cross section. In addition, it is shown that the total scattering cross section increases with an increase of the Fermi ion-acoustic velocity in a magnetized weak quantum plasma.
