Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze nonlinear dynamics of a space elevator system connected with tether. The coupled non-linear equations of motion are derived using the Hamilton's principle with the polar coordinate system. In order to analyze the responses of the space elevator system with tether, time responses are computed by the Newmark time integration method. We also compare the dynamic behavior of the system with previous studies. Furthermore, the effects of elevator mass, moving velocity of the mass with time variation.
