- Abstract
- In this paper, the noise and vibration of reducer are determined through a signal analysis and a system analysis. There is right angle design which is equipped spiral bevel gear set on input gear. To identify the exiting frequencies and noise sources, vibration/noise signals are measured by an accelerometer and a microphone when the reducer operates. These signals are analyzed with a waterfall plot. It is found that the gear mesh frequencies which are caused by the spiral bevel gear are main vibration sources and generate resonance. For the purpose to verify the dynamic characteristics, we are performed the modal test for the housing and the main shaft. It is found that the shaft is the cause of resonance.
