- Abstract
- In this paper, drive method and torque characteristics of a switched reluctance motor(SRM) with auxiliary winding for the reduction of torque ripple are researched. This auxiliary winding is coupled with phase winding on the switch turn-off. In this proposed SSRM, auxiliary winding used to obtain active continuous torque. The abrupt change of a in mechanical vibration. The torque ripple is reduced remarkably through the proposed drive method commutation. The operational principle and a torque characteristic comparison to that of the conventional SRM show that this SRM with auxiliary winding scheme has some advantages including high average torque as well as torque ripple.
