Y.라이너와 P.바우쉬 무용에 나타난 전위적 특질에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 20세기 후반의 현대 무용의 대표적 안무가인 이본 라이너와 피나 바우쉬의 무용에 나타난 특질인 전 위 양상을 밝히는데 목적을 둔다 이 목적을 위해 전문 무용의 사회 문화적 배경을 알아보과 전위무용을 선도한 무용가들의 두드러진 특질들을 통해 오늘날의 현대무용이 지닌 전위성을 고찰하였다. 연구자는 이를 위해 미국의 저드슨 교회 (Judson Memorial Church)를 중심으로 실험 무용을 시도한 전위적인 흐름과 유럽의 전위무용을 이 끌 고 있는 부퍼탈 탄츠 테아터 (Wuppertal Tanz The산er)를 살펴보았다. 이상의 연구에서 두 사람의 공통된 전위 양상을 다음과 같이 찾아 볼 수 있었다 첫째, 시간과 공간의 개념을 파괴하였으며 둘째, 구성에 있어 실험적이며, 자유로운 움직임을 추구하였고, 셋째, 무용 형식의 탈피를 과감히 시도하였다 본 연구에서 현대 무용이 쉼 없이 인습이나 타성에 도전하면서 새로움의 창조를 위해 노력해 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 이들의 급격한 사회 문화적 환 경의 변화에 능동적으로 대응하면서 현대 사회를 나타낼 수 있는 무용형식을 제시해 왔다고 볼 수 있다.

This research purports to clarify the avant-garde characteristics appearing in the dances by Yvonne Rainer and Pina Bausch who were the representative choreographers of modem dance in the second half of the 20th centuiy. For this purpose, this re­ search examined the sociocultural background erf avant-garde dance and it studied the avant-garde property that the modem dance of today has through the remarkable characteristics of the dancers v4k> led avant-garde dance. This research examined the avant-garde flow that experimental dance was attenpted, centering on Judson Memorial Church, and Wuppertal Tanz Theater that leads the avant-garde dance of Europe. As a result of the research, the following common avant-garde character­ istics were found between them First, they destroyed the concept of time and space. Secondly, they pursued experimental conposition and free movements. Third, it dared to escape from the dance form. This research found that modem dance had strived for the creation of newness, while challenging for traditions or force of habit Positively coping with the rapid changes in the socio-cultural environnient, they have proposed the dance form that can show the modem society. And their methodo­ logical challei^e has made the dance language of today deep and wide.
