- Abstract
- This study examined the expression of tense and aspect which appear in the utterance of the infants aged between 24 and 35 months. First, in case of the non-past tenses of the Sentence ending, the infants used unmarked sentences first and then ‘-는/ㄴ-’ type of sentences later. In the past tense sentences, the infants used ‘-었-’ type most actively and acquired them faster than the ‘-는/ㄴ-’ suffix in the non-past tense sentences. Moreover, regarding ‘-더-’ in which the infants should acquire the sentence-indicating, utterance-based and the conceptualization- based tenses, it was proved to be acquired later than any other cases. In the tense expression of pre-nouns, the results suggested that the present tense appears much faster than the past tense. In case of the aspect forms, the results suggested that while ‘-어 있다, -어 놓다, -고 있다(continuance)’ are used frequently in the completed aspect form, ‘-고 있다’ was used in the incomplete aspect form. In addition, the development of aspect expression for ‘-어 버리다’ and ‘-고 말다’ which have figurative features was shown to appear relatively late.
