대학도서관의 실내공간 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

The worth and importance of university libraries are increasing as fundamental facilities for the realization of intellectual power. Since most of domestic university libraries have relatively inferior circumstance to foreign ones, however, in this work we select competitive Princeton, Columbia, MIT, and Harvard university in the United States and investigate functional, facility and interior-image aspects. With respect to research method, we analyzed function-classification and user- classification in analytical model for the object, referring to preexistent research. For functional factors, we inspected the characteristic of the interior space of the foreign prominent university libraries by looking into exterior and interior images, windows, illumination, and furniture. In the usable space, we investigated a variety of space composition form mainly by analyzing the room of advanced course and convenient facilities. The function of university libraries is embossed as a complex space including various functions such as community facilities, beyond just simple research space as time goes by and demand changes by users. Based on the research results in this point, we aim providing the basic data for planning of interior space of university libraries based on this study And it is very important for us to have better alternatives to meet user`s mental and behavioral desires for space planning of university library.
