서울 지역의 체언 말음 변화에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 현행 표준발음 규정 상 유기파열음 또는 파찰음으로 발음하도록 되어 있는 체언 말음이 서울 지역 화자들의 일상대화에서 실제로 어떻게 발음되고 있는지 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해 서울말 체언의 변화 방향과 진행 정도를 예측하는 데 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 ‘연령별 대화 말뭉치’가운데 10대부터 40대 연령대의 서울말 화자 총 2,813명의 음성 자료를 대상으로 ‘ㅍ, ㅌ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅋ’말음 어휘의 음성 실현형을 조사하였다. 그 결과, ‘ㅋ’말음 체언의 개신형 사용 비율이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 나머지 어휘들의 개신형 사용 비율도 기존 설문 조사에서 밝혀진 것보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 연령대에 따른 차이는 ‘ㅌ’말음 체언에서 두드러지게 나타나, 앞으로 ‘ㅌ’말음 체언의 변화가 좀 더 진행될 가능성이 있음을 보여주었다. 후행 형태에 따라서는 다른 조사에 비해 주격 조사 ‘-이’와 서술격 조사 ‘-이(다)’ 앞에서 개신형 사용 비율이 높게 나타나, 체언 말음의 변화가 주로 이들 조사와 결합하는 환경에서 먼저 이루어진다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

In Seoul Korean, there are some words of which the stem final consonants are realized differently as the case. This paper aims to investigate the realization of the stem final consonants in Seoul speakers` everyday conversation and its relevance with generation and following morpheme. We used the data of spoken language corpus of 2,813 native Seoul Korean speakers. It was found that the variation of kh→k was most prevalent and the proportion of variation of ph→p, th→s, tch→s was different depending on individual words. The proportion of using innovative forms was mostly high, compared with the results of previous study in which speaker preferences for standard forms to innovative forms had been suggested. The variation of th→s increased by generations, the most commonly used in the youngest generation. And the innovative forms were shown more often before a nominative particle `-이` or a predicative particle `이(다)` than before a locative particle `-에`.
