- Abstract
- The study aims at finding out how the contemporary public libraries in Korea confront with new environments such as digitalization, changing role and so on. In doing so, the study uses the spatial configuration and the area ratio in order to find out the changing characteristics of the spatial configuration in recently built libraries since 1990's. As the result, it is shown that the less spatial area ratio of personal learning rooms is, the more appropriate spatial character as a public library is accomplished is in the age of transition. In addition, it can be said that the degree of circulation control caused by the management problem significantly influences the integration value.
