Abstract
A contrast enhancement method using edge information and saturation improvement is proposed. Histogram equalization using VCD(Value of Color Difference) makes dynamic range of image widen and contrast enhanced. Saturation is improved by using absolute difference of histogram between CDF(Cumulative Distribution Function) of original image and CDF of its filtered image that adds edge information. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides higher contrast and more natural image than the conventional methods.
