Abstract
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) employing advanced communications and control technologies can provide collision avoidance service. Contrary to MANET, in VANET nodes which are vehicles can move with high speed and generally must communicate quickly and reliably. A traditional method as flooding protocol cannot be applied to ITS safety application since it causes a large overhead and high rate of message collisions. To to disseminate emergency message effectively with low overhead, DDT & IVG protocols were presented. In this paper, the advanced protocol to disseminate emergency message among vehicles is proposed in order to avoid collision when accident or any other obstacle in a highway. In emergency situation, the proposed protocol determines transmission availability considering vehicle speeds and relevant area during defer time to broadcast the message effectively. Therefore, emergency message can be transmitted as fast as possible by low collision probability and overhead than other protocols.
