Abstract
The 21st century we live in can be also defined as the era of design- based culture society in which scientific technologies and design cultures are interconnected with each other as a single organism. Lately, as there are more attentions to traditional values and culture, there is a series of ongoing efforts to find out certain independent identity. Now is the time to build up a foundation of our own design concepts through original viewpoints about design. This spiritless and even design mind in producing resulted stagnant so-called Pseudo Design, that is, what looks like design/ But as a matter of fact, there has been a series of ceaseless e 伴orts in progress for design's originality establishing Korean independently nowadays as well. In view of a tradition, it is necessary to get deep speculation about what is something Oriental and Korean. First of all, Korean design is not tangible but spiritual. In this study, Pseudo Design of the Cultural Industry Theory and BungSan Seowon at the of the Joseon are analyzed. Our design without Korean original spirits is just the Pseudo-Design less obvious identity in practice. It is important, regardless of our design in past, that we establish our own firm identity in design and rearrange asscxziated matters even from now on. I would like to define moderation', 'enjoyment', and ' characteristic' as the essence of ‘the authentic Koreanz in Korean design by analyzing Bungsan Seowon. Now is literally the time to converge in developing Oriental designs in aspect of long-term strategy and turning unarranged features of our culture into design ones for the benefit of exerting creativity. This is possibly our identity on the way to global leader in design. More researches focused on Korea Design Indentity are required according to digital technologies and social shift.
