- Abstract
- WRC-2003 resolved a resolution 141 to review the provisions of current PFD limits in the band 17.7-19.7 GHz for satellite systems using highly inclined orbits (HIO), and adopted a related agenda item 1.18 in preparation for next WRC meeting. In order to review whether the current PFD masks are appropriate to protect terrestrial fixed service (FS) from HIO satellites, analyses of received interference levels of FS station from the emission of HIO satellites were carried out using three kinds of HIO systems, such as MOLNYA, VIRGO, and NSAT type systems. As a preliminary result of the study, this paper suggests an adequate PFD limit mask to protect Korean FS stations from the interference due to emission of such HIO satellites
