- Abstract
- This paper presents the robust optimal design of a
spoke-type PM motor according to the permanent magnet shape
to improve motor performance such as efficiency, torque ripple,
and max torque, in terms of probability of failure as well as mean
value. This paper uses the hybrid response surface method which
has the hybrid structure between the response surface method
and Taguchi design method. The method finds Z-value as the
robustness index instead of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) used
in the Taguchi method because of some weaknesses of the SNR.
Finally, the design results of analysis models are verified by using
the process capability analysis which performs the Monte-Carlo
simulation.
