Abstract
Academic research has long sought fixed truths, has set rigorous standards for seeking objective knowledge, and has not been willing to accept new forms of exploration easily. However, knowledge is now replaced by knowing, and the process of knowledge is the priority rather than knowledge itself. Then, what value does the arts of creative and ambiguous metaphor have as an academic study, and how can it fall within the standard of the rigorousness of academic research? And what value does the ambiguity of arts have in academic research? Generally speaking, we do not consider the value of knowledge in arts research because we do not dismiss arts as producing knowledge. This is because we do not discuss the nature of knowledge from various perspectives, but have a fixed perspective with scientific knowledge that traditionally brings validity to academic research. However, we need to discuss the nature of our body, environment, society, and culture as well as how much our knowledge have changed and how diverse it is. Therefore, this study begins with the question of why, how, and what to explore arts research through nonconceptual experiences in humans, and examines how knowledge expansion and arts knowledge for the academic research of arts can inspire human understanding in the academic discipline through insights and perspectives provided by artists who are affected by the community of culture and thoughtful practice. The purpose of this research is to consider the nature of knowledge and explore its value to re-concept the ambiguity of knowledge generated from arts research, and to discuss as follows: First, it considers the value of knowledge in academic research for arts and expands the concept of knowledge. Second, for the validity of the knowledge inferred from arts research, we restructure research methods for arts exploring and re-concept the rigorousness and ambiguity of academic research based on them.
