- Abstract
- The decarboxylation reaction of phenylglyoxylic acid with hydrogen peroxide is studied by real-time hyperpolarized carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (C-13 NMR) spectroscopy at room temperature. A non-observable reaction intermediate is identified using blind selective saturation pulses in the expected chemical shift range, thereby revealing information on the reaction mechanism.
