반즈케(番付)로 읽는 가나데혼주신구라 - 이미지 표현을 중심으로 -

Abstract

Banzuke, a guide for a stage appreciation and a sort of performance promotion program as a means of communication characterized by the literature as a stage appreciation, started to be published in theaters in accordance with Joruri and Kabuki performances. This one-page material has concise and diverse information useful for the audience, such as performance place, date, title of work, roles, actors, playwright, and synopsis. For this reason, from the audience’s perspective, this was used to arouse more interest in the performance and obtain necessary information. Thus, the audience was able to appreciate “Kanadehon Chushingura” in a different form as a reading matter or content. On the other hand, from the theater’s perspective, it was used as a promotion material and a variable influencing the effects of attracting more audience as well as a material to figure out the information on the place, date, and title of each performance. This way, Banzuke formed a new relationship in the Edo literature as a main agent creating a culture derived during the process of accepting Kabuki. 舞台鑑賞という文芸の特徴上、疎通の手段と舞台鑑賞用の案内書であり、一種の公演の宣伝番組である番付が浄瑠璃や歌舞伎の公演に合わせて劇場を中心に発行され始めた。上演場所、日付、作品タイトル、配役、俳優、作家、ストーリーなど観覧に必要なさまざまな公演の情報が一枚にまとめられている。観客の立場では、公演に対する興味をそそり、情報を得るのに使用された。観客たちは読み物という形で≪仮名手本忠臣蔵≫を鑑賞することができるようになったのだった。一方、劇場では広報と観客動員の効果に影響を及ぼす変数として作用するなど、いつ、どこで、どんな作品が上演されたのか把握できる資料として活用された。絵画で描かれた舞台上の場面を通じて,現在上演中の作品に対する広報と理解を助ける一方,読み物として大衆に消費されたことが分かる。この番付は歌舞伎を収容する過程で派生された一つの文化を創っていく主体で江戸の文芸における新たな関係を形成した。
