민영건강보험의 가입 결정요인에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 한국의료패널 자료를 이용하여 민영건강보험의 미가입 집단과 가입 집단의 특성을 파악하고, 인구·사회적 특성, 경제적 특성, 건강적 특성의 변수들에 따라 민영건강보험의 가입 결정요인을 실증 분석하는데 있다. 패널데이터 특성에 따라 패널프로빗모형을 이용하였으며, 전체 변수 중 유의한 변수들로 연구모형을 설정하고 연구모형의 적합성을 검정하였다. 연구모형의 분석결과, 여성인 경우, 연령이 높을수록, 자가소유를 한 경우, 가구연소득이 높을수록, 입원경험이 있는 경우, 외래경험이 있는 경우 민영건강보험의 가입에 정(+)의 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 혼인중인 경우에 비해 미혼인 경우, 직장건강보험 가입자에 비해 지역건강보험 가입자나 의료급여수급권자인 경우, 가구원수가 증가할수록, 월평균식료품비가 높을수록, 장애가 있는 경우 가입에 부(-)의 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 본 연구에서는 민영건강보험 가입에 많은 영향을 미치는 가입전 병력, 보험사별 마케팅 전략 및 판매인과의 친숙도 등은 데이터 부족 등으로 인해 고려되지 못했다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of private health insurance in Korea using the Korea Health Survey from 2011 to 2014. This study conducted a Likelihood-ratio test, Wald chi-square test and Multicollinearity. As a result, this study used panel probit model as a optimum model. The main result of study shows that female, higher age, possession of house, higher average annual income, experience of inpatient and experience of outpatient can be classified as positive factor for private health insurance. On the other hand, unmarried person, the self-employed insured or the medical beneficiary, more house members, higher level of grocery expenses and existence of disability are regarded as negative components for private health insurance in Korea. However, in this study factors(medical record, insurance company’s strategies, etc) that significantly affect private health insurance can not considered due to a lack of data.
