〈アジア〉 への回歸－大東亞共榮圈とアジア連合－

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the structure of Yabe Teiji's discourse on Asia in the wartime and postwar. Three points will be demonstrated throughout my analysis. (1) Yabe's discourse on Asia in the postwar was a transformation of the theory of "Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere" in the wartime. (2) In the postwar Yabe succeeded to the theory of "Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere" critically, He advocated constructing the "Asian Union". Although the discourse was critical of the Cold War system, it was not completely free from that system, but rather tended to get involved in that environment. (3) Ultimately, Yabe advocated the discourse of "developmentalism", but his discourse was proposed as the theory of "Asian Union". Therefore, Yabe's discourse of "developmentalism" was like the theory of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" and it was linked to the Cold War regime. 본고는 야베 테이지(矢部貞治, 1902~1967)의 전시기(戰時期)와 전후(戰後)에 있어서의 아시아 언설 구조를 해독하고자 한 것이다. 본고에서는 이하의 3가지를 분명히 하고싶다. (1) 전후에 있어서의 야베의 아시아 언설은 전시기의 ‘대동아공영권(大東亞共榮圈)’론이 변형된 것이었다. (2) 전후에 있어서 야베는 ‘대동아공영권’론을 비판적으로 계승하여, ‘아시아연합(アジア連合)’론을 주창했다. 그 언설은 냉전 체계에 비판적이면서도, 그곳에서 완전히 자유롭지 않고 오히려 그 환경에 말려드는 경향이 있었다. (3) 최종적으로 야베는 ‘개발주의(開發主義)’ 언설을 주장했지만, 그 언설은 ‘아시아 연합’론으로서 제창되고 있었다. 그 때문에 야베의 ‘개발주의’ 언설은 ‘대동아공영권’론적이고, 냉전체제와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것이었다.
