- Abstract
- A centralized smart home system can be attacked by hacking the center or camouflaging as a member device. We propose a distributed security system using received signal strength (RSS) based voting. The peripheral devices vote according to whether the RSS is in a pre-calculated range. The validation of a data is conducted by the result of vote. If the peripheral devices approve more than 60%, the data is regarded to be trusted. We have confirmed through actual implementation and experiments against the camouflage attack scenario. As a result, the proposed system blocked the data from a camouflaged device as 100% in the experiments. © 2018 IEEE.
