- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to provide educators with informative data of effective ways of teaching Taekwondo by analyzing the effects of Taekwondo training of the personality and the sociality of middle school students. The participants of the study were 298 middle school students who were the trainees in 8 Taekwondo training centers in Seoul area, and they were chosen through the non-probability sampling technique. Based on the studies of Kim(2011), Jung(2010), and Han(2008), a questionnaire was created, distributed, and collected. Factor analysis, reliability test, average, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlational analysis. The followings are the results of this study. First, Significant differences of weekly training frequency, training duration, training period, there were significant differences in basic life habits, community spirit, identity establishment, self-respect, filial piety, and love and respect. Second, Significant differences of weekly training frequency, daily training duration, total training period, there were significant differences in law-abiding spirit, sociability, responsibility, diligence, and planning ability. Third, the correlation of the personality and the sociality in Taekwondo training showed that a higher personality resulted in a higher sociality.
