Abstract
This study evaluated the correlation between technological innovation and social responsibility using panel data obtained from 4,352 Chinese listed companies between 2010 and 2017. This study additionally analyzed the effects of a CEO’s educational level and tenure, as well as that of whether a CEO is also a chief director or vice versa, on technological innovation and social responsibility. The results revealed that the technological innovation of listed Chinese companies positively affected social responsibility. Moreover, the positive effects of technological innovation on social responsibility increased when the educational level of a CEO was higher, when the tenure of a CEO was longer, and when a CEO was also a chief director. © Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2019.
