- Abstract
- This study compared the current status of practical application between western countries and China in Industry 4.0 using a case study. Also the study analyzed the feasibility and profitability of information technology applied in the Chinese industrial set-up. In conclusion, the Chinese government should leverage information technology to set up an original collaborative purchasing and logistic center–the bargaining center– to support the standardization of products as well as facilitate price negotiations. This information technology framework could establish a large database through radio frequency identification, sensors and mobile communication technologies, eventually merging the information networks to benefit the entire manufacturing industry and thereby, placing industrial development in China at par with that in western countries. ©Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2020.
