Abstract
As the importance of continuing education is increased, the need for online graduate schools in Korea is growing. The purposes of this study are to analyze cases of successful graduate online school in U. S. A and to draw implications which help establish and administer online graduate school in Korea. The cases included in the analysis were Western Governors University, Penn State University World Campus, Boston University Online, Drexel University Online, and Temple University Online. This study examined each case in terms of the background of the school, characteristics of curriculum, administration, instructional model, instructional strategies, evaluation, and the learning management systems. As results, suggestions in designing curriculum, operating strategies, evaluation strategies, instructional models, and implementing learning management systems were discussed.
