Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the research contents related to online physical education classes conducted in Korea due to COVID-19, and to explore the future-oriented development direction, particulary, physical education classes in preparation for the another potential pandemic. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 22 studies related to online physical education classes were collected from 2020 to the present after the outbreak of COVID-19. Categorization was conducted centering on the subject of the collected literature. Through categorization, the classification of previous studies by subject was organized into three categories: class status, class management difficulties, and class type or class effect. The research results are as follows. First, it was possible to grasp the starting process of online physical education classes. As for the teaching method, interactive real-time classes, content utilization-oriented classes, and task performanceoriented classes were used to construct online classes fit for physical education classes. Second, in the preparation for online physical education classes, instructors struggled to adapt their existing curriculum to an online format on short notice, but overcame it by collaborating with colleagues and communicating with students to better improve the quality of classes. Third, due to early struggles of suddenly adjusting to the pandemic, instructors have gradually made efforts to increase the efficiency of the operation of online classes and develop physical education classes fit for circumstances under a pandemic.
