공감능력 향상을 위한 그림책 활용 미술활동 중심의 세계시민교육 방안 - 초등학교 1학년 대상으로 -

Abstract

세계화와 정보화가 가속되고 있는 현대사회에서는 세계 공통의 다양한 문제들에 대해 공동체적인 시각으로 해결하고자 하는 태도와 능력을 필요로한다. 따라서 본 연구는 이를 위한 세계시민의식의 형성은 반드시 필요한 교육으로서 학교 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 세계시민교육의 실제적인 방안을 논의하여야 한다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 본 연구에서는 타인과 타문화에 대한 이해와 차이를 인정하고 상호 존중하며 협력할 수 있는 기반 마련의 측면에서 공감능력에 관심을 두었다. 따라서 공감능력의 향상을 통해 타인의 이해 및 주변의 현상이나 환경에까지 범위를 넓혀 그림책을 활용한 미술교육 에 대한 실천적 교육방안에 대해 초등학교 1학년을 대상으로 모색해보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 세부 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세계시민교육에서 공감능력은 어떠한 의미를 갖는가? 둘째, 공감능력 향상을 위한 그림책 활용 미술활동 중심의 세계시민교육 프로그램은 어떻게 설계되어야 하는가? 이를 위해 공감능력 향상을 위한 세계시민교육에 대해 그림책을 활용한 미술활동을 중심으로 수업 모형 및 활동 내용을 사고기능 중심으로 제안하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 학생은 공감의 경험으로 세계시민의식의 변화를 가져오고, 교사에게는 실천적 이해 능력의 변화와 모델링 제공자와 세계시민교육 전문가로서의 역할 측면에서 교육적 의미를 가지게 되었다. 학생들이 공감능력의 향상을 통해 자기의 생활주변에서의 삶과 연계하여 세계시민의 역할을 행할 수 있도록 돕는다는 측면에서 공감능력 향상을 통한 그림책 활용 미술활동 중심의 세계시민교육의 실천적 활용 방안을 모색하였다는 데 의의를 지닌다.

In modern society, where globalization and informatization are accelerating, attitudes and abilities to solve various problems in common around the world are required from a community perspective. Therefore, this study started with the awareness of the problem that the formation of global citizenship for this purpose must be discussed as a necessary education and practical measures for global citizenship education that can be achieved in the school field. In this study, attention was paid to empathy in terms of establishing a foundation for acknowledging, respecting, and cooperating with others and differences in understanding and culture. Therefore, by improving empathy ability, we tried to expand the scope to other people's understanding and surrounding phenomena and environment, and to explore practical education plans for art education using picture books for first graders in elementary school. The detailed research problems of this study are as follows. First, what does empathy mean in global citizenship education? Second, how should the global citizenship education program centered on art activities using picture books to improve empathy be designed? To this end, I would like to propose class models and activities focusing on art activities using picture books on global citizenship education to improve empathy skills. Therefore, the results of this study brought about a change in global citizenship through empathy experience, and teachers had educational significance in terms of changes in practical understanding and roles as modeling providers and global civic education experts. In terms of helping students play the role of global citizens in connection with their lives by improving empathy ability, it is meaningful that they sought practical use of global citizenship education centered on art activities by improving empathy ability is improved.
