- Abstract
- This study measured the changes of HCHO concentrations in residential buildings before and after flush-out. The measured buildings are the pre-occupancy stage after completion of indoor finishing work. According to the guide for flush-out provided in based on the standards of health-friendly housing construction, outdoor air of 400m³ per unit floor area flows into the buildings. The buildings were set at three different flush-out condtions, for the confirm the effects of flush-out on lowering indoor HCHO concentrations in newly built buildings; one is no flush-out, the second is changes of the days of flush-out. The flush-out house and the new mechanical ventilation system for apartment were used at the rate of 0.5 times per hour for 14 days, while the flushout-only prototype ran 1.0 times per hour. The results of field measurement are described the below.
