Abstract
This paper shows the improvement of sensorless control characteristic of spindle motor in the low speed drive area through the improvement of back electromotive force (B-EMF) waveform. This study analyzes the effects which B-EMF waveform distortion of spindle motor has on sensorless low speed drive control characteristic and minimizes the distortion in B-EMF waveform of spindle motor by improving magnetizing yoke shape. In conclusion, the sensorless control stability of speed motor in low speed drive area was secured through the improvement of the B-EMF waveform.
