- Abstract
- The life span of Brush DC Motor is closely related with Brush wear which is the result of mechanical friction and electrical Arc voltage. This study observed the relationship between reduction in contact resistance depending on Brush cross section and stall torque in Brushed DC motor and also the changes in Arc voltage of commutator depending on width of Brush. It was found that there was an appropriate brush width depending on operating area and winding structure and this contributed to the lifespan increase.
