- Abstract
- This study is to analyze the exceptional works of Louis Kahn who is appraised for one of the Beaux-Arts architecture successors. Kahn makes a regular centre important that is surrounded with regular edge or irregular edge. However, with a irregular centre and regular edge, he breaks from Beaux-Arts architecture and it seems that his plan is drawing to a Le Corbusier's. Dominican Motherhouse is a good example. In this plan, a series of main spaces is freely positioned at beyond orthogonal. In relation of a irregular centre and regular edge, Kahn's room become a Kahn's objet.
