- Abstract
- As the Korean society pays more attention to residents' health, sick building syndrome has recently become a main topic. Along with it, studies have also been actively conducted on sick building syndrome, which can arise when apartment buildings are newly constructed. As an preventive measure, the government enacted Health-friendly building code. This measure requires that a construction company flush-out indoor air pollutants, which cause sick building syndrome, with mechanical ventilation system or large fans after interior work and before occupants move in. However, the criteria for flush-out only include are established only for mandatory air volume and recommended temperature and humidity, not specify a way to execute flush-out. In this respect, the present study carried out a flush-out for a newly-built apartment building before residents moved in and examined its reduction effect on indoor air pollutants.
