- Abstract
- ICT art education is currently prevailing at school. The purpose of this study was to examine teacher-student interaction in digital environments. The findings of the study were as follows;First, a essential change in interaction should be taken into account when computer contents or digital textbooks are used in class. In the past, instructors just had to convey knowledge to learners, and learners just took instructor-led lessons. In computer-aided instruction, however, instructors no longer have to take the initiative. Instead, learners are able to proceed with instruction on their own, and instructors should serve as assistants who help them acquire what they have to learn. So the kind of environments that can facilitate changing teacher-student interaction in the computer lab should be created.
Second, contents should be developed in a way to make it possible to offer individualized teaching to learners. Thus, contents and digital textbooks should be designed in a way to make it possible for learners to acquire the contents on their own. In the past, there were just two kinds of contents: textbook and explanation. The development of individualized contents enables instructors to tide over their teaching difficulties, and that also contributes to the active class participation of learners.
Third, the kind of programs that can lend assistance to instructors should be conducted in the computer lab. The preparation of proper classroom environments and educational programs is more important than that of digital contents to ensure smooth education under the circumstances. As digital education is rapidly widespread, computer labs are widely used in school instruction. So it's required to look into how computer-based environments affect the knowledge construction of learners and what roles instructors perform.
