Abstract
In Korea, the Heavy-duty vehicle Emission Simulator(HES) was developed to estimate CO2 emissions of heavy-duty vehicles(HDVs). The HES program is based on vehicle dynamics and uses vehicle parameters to calculate CO2 emissions. The major input variables of HES include the fuel consumption map, aerodynamic drag coefficient, rolling resistance coefficient, vehicle weight, and transmission loss maps. In this study, we analyzed the effects of these variables on the CO2 emission of HDVs. The CO2 emissions of four HDVs were calculated when the input variables were adjusted within ±20 %. The fuel consumption map had the greatest impact on CO2 emissions, while vehicle weight showed the second greatest impact. We also analyzed the CO2 emission changes depending on the vehicle type.
