Abstract
Currently, fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEVs) are being released due to emission regulations, but commercial vehicles are operated with parts from existing passenger vehicles, not parts optimized for the target vehicle. In this paper, dynamic programming, a global optimization technique, is applied to FCHEV to explore the optimal combination of fuel cell hybrid power packs considering the production cost of fuel cell hybrid power packs and fuel cell stack operation efficiency. The vehicle model for the optimization algorithm applied to fuel cell output, fuel consumption, battery cell internal resistance, and vehicle dynamics is constructed, and the driving information of the actual bus passing through Seoul is reflected for global optimization. Using this, we analyze the average operating efficiency of the fuel cell stack by the number of fuel cells and batteries constituting the fuel cell hybrid power pack, and propose a method of constructing an optimal combination in consideration of performance and cost. Through this method, it is possible to derive the optimal combination of various commercial vehicles.
