설명간호사의 근무경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

Abstract

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 설명간호사의 근무경험을 심층적으로 살펴보는 것으로, 설명간호사의 역할에 대한 이해를 높이고 간호전문직으로서의 정체성을 강화하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법: 본 연구의 자료는 2021년 8월 12일부터 2021년 10월 7일까지 간호실무 경험이 5년 이상이며 설명간호사 경력이 1년 이상인 간호사 13명을 대상으로 목적적 표집방법으로 수집되었으며, 자료분석은 Colaizzi의 현상학적 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과: 본 연구의 자료 분석 결과, ‘설명간호사의 정체성을 내포하지 못하는 업무로부터의 혼란’, ‘간호전문가로서의 온전한 역할 수행’, ‘주체적 업무 수행을 위한 지원체계 갈망’으로 3개의 주제 모음이 도출되었다. 결론: 부서 변경 초기에 간호사들은 자신이 수행해야 하는 설명업무에 대해 정체성 확립에 어려움을 겪었다. 그러나, 설명간호분야를 개척하여 전문성을 수립하고 그 역할을 수행한 뒤에 설명간호업무를 지속하고 싶어 하였었다. 따라서 병원조직은 설명간호사가 그 역할을 시작할 때, 이들이 업무에 잘 적응하고 설명간호사의 전문성을 강화하도록 체계적으로 지원해야 한다. 이를 통하여 설명간호사들은 보다 수준 높은 설명간호와 환자중심의료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

This study aims to provide essential data for measures to enhance the professionalism of nursing experts and improve understanding of the explanationnurse's identity by examining their working experience in depth. Methods_ Data were collected from August 12 through October 07, 2021. Participants were 13 explanation nurses with more than five years of nursing experience. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis. Results_ Three theme clusters emerged from the data analysis_ “Confusion from work that does not affect the identity of an explanation nurse”, “Entirely fulfilling role as a nursing professional”, and “Crave for the organization's support system for independent job performance”. Conclusion_ Earlier in the department change, nurses had difficulty establishing their identity regarding the explanation duties they must perform. Still, they wanted to continue their explanation work after struggling to pioneer and carry out their duties with expertise . Therefore, hospitals must support explanation nurses with a structural system as they begin their role to adapt to their work and strengthen their professionalism so that these nurses may provide a higher level of explanation nursing and patient-centered care_
