Abstract
This paper proposes a super-twisting sliding mode control(STSMC) method for the grid voltage modulated direct power control(GVM-DPC) of Energy Storage Systems and Power Conversion System(ESS/PCS), which can control the instantaneous active and reactive power directly. The conventional control method needs Phase-Locked-Loop(PLL), required for the controller because it is modeling in d-q frame. This PLL can affect the transient performance of the system. The GVM-DPC is reported that improves the tracking performance of output power but remains chattering problems. Therefore, we proposed the new method for GVM-DPC to reduce ripples and robust the grid system. We validate with MATLAB/Simulink and OPAL-RT(real-time simulator) systems. It turns out that the proposed method shows improved tracking performance and reduced ripples over other controllers.
