Abstract
This paper proposed the method to predict accurate torque of traction motor for vehicle by using the inverter simulation. Since electric performance of electric motor has been calculated considering only sinusoidal current in conventional, electric performance is often inaccurate. the electric motor and inverter model were coupled to calculate the current. In the model, current harmonics were calculated by the d, q axis voltage equation. With the predicted current, average torque and torque ripple was calculated by using 2D static electromagnetic analysis. Calculated torque was compared to torque considering sinusoidal current. Through the comparison, it was verified that accurate current and motor performance of traction motor for vehicle were calculated by using the proposed inverter simulation.
