- Abstract
- The travel industry relies heavily on human resources; thus, employee silence may have serious consequences for individuals and organizations. There have been limited studies on employee silence in the tourism industry. Previous studies primarily focused on the effects of employee silence on organizations as opposed to investigating the specific dimensions underlying the motives of silence. Therefore, this study aimed to reveal the dimensions of silence among travel agency employees using a multidimensional structure, including the underlying motives. The employee silence scale developed for travel agencies is novel and contributes significant results to the field of silence research in the tourism and hospitality industries.
