Abstract
This paper is a study on the torque characteristics of a permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motor (PMa-SynRM) according to the arrangement of permanent magnets(PMs). In order to identify the movement of the magnetic neutral point due to the arrangement of PMs, a model with PMs inserted in the direction of rotation and a model with PMs inserted in the opposite direction of rotation were selected and compared by FEA. In addition, the causes of the movement of the maximum point of magnetic torque and the maximum point of reluctance torque and their influence on torque characteristics were examined. Finally, an excellent model is selected by comparing torque characteristics according to speed.
