대학생의 실제-이상 자기불일치와 인터넷 중독의 관계: 경험회피의 매개효과와 가족기능의 조절효과

Abstract

본 연구는 대학생의 실제-이상 자기불일치와 인터넷 중독의 관계에서 경험회피의 매개효과와 가족기능의 조절효과 검증을 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구를 위해 전국의 19세부터 29세의 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 26.0과 Process macro 3.5 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 실제-이상 자기불일치, 인터넷 중독, 경험회피 및 가족기능의 2가지 지표인 가족적응성과 가족응집성은 모두 통계적으로 유의한 상관을 보였다. 또한 경험회피는 대학생의 실제-이상 자기불일치와 인터넷 중독의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 대학생의 실제-이상 자기불일치와 인터넷 중독 간의 관계를 가족적응성과 가족응집성이 각각 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 대학생의 실제-이상 자기불일치가 인터넷 중독으로 이어지는 과정에서 작용하는 심리적 기제를 확인하였다는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 실제-이상 자기불일치의 문제로 인해 인터넷 중독 문제를 겪는 대학생들을 상담할 경우, 경험회피 경향을 줄이기 위한 개입과 가족기능을 높이기 위한 개입이 필요함을 시사해 준다.

This study examined the mediating effects of experiential avoidance and the moderating effects of family function on the relationship between actual/ideal self-discrepancy and Internet addiction among college students. The survey was conducted with college students, aged 19 to 29, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and Process macro 3.5. Results indicated that all study variables were significantly correlated with one another. Also, experiential avoidance was found to mediate the relationship between actual/ideal self-discrepancy and Internet addiction. In addition, the relationship between actual/ideal self-discrepancy and Internet addiction differed depending on the level of family cohesion and adaptability, respectively. The significance of the study is that it identified some psychological factors that play an important role in the relationship between actual/ideal self-discrepancy and Internet addiction among college students. Practically, findings suggest that interventions to reduce experiential avoidance and to improve family functioning are needed when working with college students who are vulnerable to Internet addiction due to actual/ideal self-discrepancy.
