Abstract
The technical characteristics of athletes in the 100m sprint finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 76th National Sports Festival were compared and analyzed using 2D image analysis with Dartfish. Through this, future prospects for the 100m event were explored and scientific information was provided. According to the analysis results, the analysis of the knee and ankle joint angles of Korean 100m runners showed no difference compared to world-class athletes. However, significant differences were observed in the hip joint angle of the support leg at the moments of landing and flight, as well as at the landing moment of the swing leg during the sprinting process. Additionally, the stride length in the 30-40m, 50-60m, and 90-100m sections was significantly shorter for top Korean athletes compared to world-class athletes. The stride frequency in the 50-60m section was also significantly lower for top Korean athletes compared to world-class athletes. Therefore, to improve the 100m performance of top Korean athletes, it is important to adjust the hip joint angle of the support leg to be lower at the moments of landing and flight, as well as at the landing moment of the swing leg during the sprinting process. It is also crucial to improve the stride length in the 30-40m, 50-60m, and 90-100m sections, and to focus on enhancing stride frequency in the 50-60m section.
