항공서비스 전공 대학생의 성격이 학습스타일과 학업성취도에 끼치는 영향력에 관한 경험적 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 항공서비스 전공 대학생을 대상으로 성격과 학습스타일이 학업성취도에 미치는 구조적 관계를 실증적으로 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 성격은 개방성, 성실성, 외향성, 친화성의 네 가지 요인을 통합한 단일 잠재변수로 설정하였으며, 학습스타일은 능동형, 감각형, 시각형, 순차형의 네 가지 유형으로 구성하였다. 자료수집은 국내 17개 대학의 항공서비스 전공 재학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 344부의 유효 표본을 분석에 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Statistics 29.0과 AMOS 22.0을 사용하여 확인적 요인분석과 구조방정식모형 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 성격은 학업성취도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 학습스타일 중 시각형 학습스타일은 학업성취도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 성격과 학업성취도 간의 관계에서 시각형 학습스타일은 부분 매개 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타난 반면, 능동형, 감각형, 순차형 학습스타일의 매개 효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 항공서비스 교육에서 시각적 자료와 매뉴얼 중심 학습의 중요성을 시사하며, 학습자의 성격과 학습스타일을 고려한 맞춤형 교수·학습 전략 수립의 필요성을 제기한다. 본 연구는 항공서비스 전공 교육 맥락에서 성격–학습스타일–학업성취도 간의 구조적 관계를 규명함으로써 관련 연구의 이론적 확장과 교육적 시사점을 제공한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships among personality traits, learning styles, and academic achievement of airline service major students. Personality traits were conceptualized as a single latent variable integrating openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness, while learning styles were classified into four types: active, sensing, visual, and sequential. Data were collected through a survey administered to airline service major students from 17 universities in Korea, and a total of 344 valid responses were used for analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted using SPSS Statistics 29.0 and AMOS 22.0. The results indicated that personality traits had a significant positive effect on academic achievement. Among the learning styles, only the visual learning style showed a significant positive effect on academic achievement, whereas the effects of active, sensing, and sequential learning styles were not statistically significant. Furthermore, the visual learning style was found to partially mediate the relationship between personality traits and academic achievement, while no mediating effects were observed for the other learning styles. These findings suggest that visual learning preferences play a meaningful role in explaining academic achievement in airline service education. This study provides theoretical contributions by clarifying the structural mechanism linking personality traits, learning styles, and academic achievement, and offers practical implications for learner-centered instructional strategies in airline service education.
