Abstract
This study explores how inclusion can be practiced in the process of exhibition design, focusing on a collaborative exhibition within an art education program involving artistically gifted students and youth with developmental disabilities as learners from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and physical backgrounds. Using a practice-based qualitative case study approach, this research analyzes the decision-making processes and exhibition composition strategies that emerged during the exhibition design process. The analysis identified three key moments of decision-making related to inclusion in exhibition design: positioning participants as artists, adjusting the starting point of appreciation, and revealing differences while enabling coexistence. The findings suggest that inclusion is not merely a declarative concept that emphasizes the inclusion of specific groups, but rather a practical process that is realized through the ongoing decisions and structural configurations involved in exhibition design.
